Jennie Martin - Founder and Executive Director of Wild things!

Before starting Wild things! Jennie worked for 9 years at Trees for life, an award-winning reforestation charity based in the Highlands of Scotland. It was here that she started developing various environmental education activities for young people. Jennie is BASP first aid trained, a qualified Forest School Leader, has completed a course in Herbal medicine as well as attended various Bushcraft courses with Woodsmoke, one of the uk's top bushcraft schools.

Ken Martin - Activity Leader

After working in the fire service for 32 years, latterly as a deputy fire master, Ken now works with the National Childrens Home as an activities leader for vulnerable teenagers. He holds a degree in Earth and Ocean Science, as well as a Summer Mountain Leader award. He is in the process of aquiring his Mountain Instructor Award. Ken is BASP first aid trained and a 'rock' nut....he climbs them as well as knowing where they have all come from.

Ruaraidh Milne - Activity Leader and Logistics

When not hanging upside down from a trapeze or spinning fire, Ruaraidh can be found either in the office helping to organise our activities or in a woods somewhere exploring the forest environment with some 10 to 15 children. Ruaraidh has a BSc (Hons) in zoology and an MSc in Conservation and Wildlife Biology

Rosie Reid Rosie Reid - Bookings and Marketing

Rosie has a background in equestrian activities and is a BHS riding instructor. Having traveled extensively (including living in Japan for 8 yrs) Rosie returned to the UK to work in a marketing agency in Bath and with the Northcliffe Newspaper group. Rosie organises our bookings and does event organising and marketing for Wild things on a part time basis.

Steve Smith - Specialist Bushcraft Instructor

Since 2002, Steve has been an instructor for Woodsmoke, one of the UK’s leading Bushcraft Schools. Whilst highly skilled in the subject of Bushcraft, Steve is also an accomplished canoeist. Through his own company, Orca, Steve teaches canoeing, as well as leading canoeing expeditions around the uk, and far flung places like South Africa and New Zealand!

Faith Simpson - Accountant and Company Secretary

A seasoned pro at multitasking - Faith has the ability to keep a tight reign over our accounts whilst at the same time drooling over her Robbie William's calendar and gorging on Green & Blacks white chocolate! A qualified accountant, Faith joined the Wild things team in 2005. She also plays an active role in fundraising for the charity.

Paul Kendall - Activity Leader

After working for Oxfam, Paul has spent eight years organising Trees for Life's volunteer work weeks and now works for the RSPB. He volunteers with his children's primary school Ecoschools projects, has been leading day trips to Glen Affric for Wild things! for the past six years and is good at spinning a yarn or two (story telling that is!)

Neil Simpson - Assistant Activity Leader

Neil workes at RAF Kinloss where he is involved with bringing the new Nimrod MRA4 into service. Being aircrew, he has completed a number of combat survival courses in the UK and the Alps. These courses gave him the opportunity to work closely with nature.
Neil has just completed his military equivalent of the Mountain Leader Award.
